Cycling is the perfect way to discover peacefully the Centre-Val de Loire and be closer to nature. In the area, you will find many cycle routes and circuits, the highlight of which is of course the Loire à Vélo trail. You can cycle along these trails at your own rhythm, for a day or more. Discover the bucolic landscapes of Touraine, Brenne, Sologne or Berry! Pedal along the royal river or its tributaries, at the heart of vineyards or wooded landscapes, discover the grand châteaux of the Loire Valley (Chenonceau, Chambord…) or smaller monuments, villages fuelled by history and the arts (Bourges, Orléans, Tours, Blois…), as well as many more picturesque villages! In terms of organisation, don’t panic! Everything has been thought out to make your life easier, thanks to our many service providers which are a part of the “Accueil Vélo” scheme. You can even board Loire by Bike trains… so what are you waiting for?
Bike services
There is no need to be an organisational expert to discover the region by bike, for one day or more... Bike rental, accommodation, stopping points, luggage or bike transfers, special trains... everything has been thought out to make your bike trips run as smoothly as possible. A snag along the way? Repair points have been set up, so that you can take care of your bike. You can pedal with no worries in mind.

All along the cycle routes and within a 5km radius, many tourism professionals have signed up to the “Accueil Vélo” scheme. In other words, they are here to make our lives easier! Bike rentals, accommodation, restaurants, visit and leisure sites, tourist offices... they have all agreed to answer your needs: repair kits, secure bike storage, practical information, packed lunches... what a dream!

Cycling itineraries
Flat-surfaced and well-maintained pathways along the Loire and other rivers, through forests and vineyards or around lakes... the Centre-Val de Loire has beautiful and bucolic cycling trips in store. The most emblematic of our cycling routes is the Loire à Vélo, which takes you through towns, châteaux of the Loire Valley and renowned gardens... But there are also others, which are just as pleasant: The Indre by Bike, the Véloscenie, Saint-Jacques by Bike... In total, 10 itineraries, in addition to 9 circuits, which take you on a discovery of châteaux, vineyards, the Sologne, the Brenne or the Perche... This represents over 5,000 kilometres of cycling tracks to discover at your own pace!
