Once you’ve been given all the recommendations, it’s time to take to the water and venture into the Cher Valley in a luxury canoe. The first few strokes are a little haphazard, but you’ll soon find your rhythm and join the flow of the Cher. Now you can give your full attention to the trip and the landscapes that unfold before you. Enjoy the sweet feeling of freedom and the pleasure of exploring the natural and architectural heritage of the Cher Valley from a unique perspective.

As you paddle along, an elegant lace-like outline gradually emerges on the horizon. As you draw closer to the Château of Chenonceau, the breath-taking splendour of this architectural gem reveals itself. Take the time to stop off and admire the Château des Dames from all angles, camera in hand. This is undoubtedly the most spectacular view of Chenonceau! And if you take your boat under the château by the arch on the garden side, you’ll see the staircase which leads to the kitchens and provided a direct access to the river from the château.

Enjoy a drink and good food under the arches of the Château of Chenonceau

As the sun slowly sets, throwing its golden rays on the Château of Chenonceau, the Cher Valley takes on a dreamlike atmosphere. It’s time for a well-deserved break in an amazing setting. End your trip through the Cher Valley in style with your generous hamper brimming with local terrines, farmhouse bread and vegetable salad, not forgetting a bottle of good wine.  Drink to these unique, unforgettable moments and enjoy the exceptional surroundings before heading back to Civray-de-Touraine. Time is all yours to savour these last instants in harmony with the nature around you.
